Secretary Koheler signed for the U.S. Navy. These cruisers were first commissioned in September 1937 and May 1938, respectively. USS Philadelphia, Brooklyn Class, displaced 97,000 tons and was 608 feet in length. USS St. Louis, one of two cruisers of the type, had a displacement of 10,000 t9ons and was 608 feet in length. Photograph released January 9, 1951. Philadelphia served as Barroso (C-11) and was scrapped in 1973.
