The laid back position of the pilot made it difficult to fly landing approaches, the cockpit struts further restricted the pilot's field of vision, and the life support equipment was unsuitable for longer missions. In response to these complaints, a new version of the Bakudan starfighter was designed, the so-called "Type-B" variant. It features a larger, strutless bubble canopy that allows the pilot to sit in a more natural position. Additional life support equipment is fitted behind the pilot and connects directly to the pilot's space suit. This fixes my main gripe about the previous version of the fighter. However, the original idea of having the stripes on the sides echo the stripes on the canopy is lost. I'm unsure which variant I prefer, so I'll keep the original cockpit assembly around for a while. Piece count: 144 (including pilot) Not long after the release of the first version of the Bakudan starfighter, customer complaints about the cockpit design began rolling in.
