I found an owl pellet in the grass when I climbed up to check out the view. Looked like it had small bones in it, probably from a vole or other small rodent. This is the first of three “peaks” we are traversing today. Great view of Copter Peak. Too bad we couldn’t climb it, but from our basecamp-style of camping and the weather we’ve had so far, I don’t think it would be feasible or safe to climb it. This hike is certainly challenging as it is! Lots of elevation gain and wonky tundra makes your legs and ankles tire out quickly. I like climbing on the lichen covered, rocky outcrops on this mountain. But hold on tight to your hat, because the wind really howls over these peaks! (Copter Peak - Waypoint 8) What a view!
