Keywords: While the label reads Port Jervis NY, I wonder if it was located in Greenville, or up the Delaware river or up the Neversink River ? The photo comes from an auction lot listed as the letters & photos of the Rev. Charles S Coit, assigned to a church in PJ 1849-1850 after spending some years on the M.E.circuit in Sandyston, Sussex Co NJ. In the 1850 census he is living in the household of Tempe A Slawson in Town of Deerpark (which included Port Jervis at the time.) It is a charming little church, probably either gone or rebuilt.
