TAFT AGE: 44 74 Prospect Street – 1st floor Amsterdam, NY 12010 Members of the Amsterdam Police Department and the United States Marshal Violent Fugitive Task Force executed an arrest warrant at the above address, arresting wanted felon, Shawn S. Taft. Taft was wanted on an Indictment Arrest Warrant issued out of the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York for Sale/Distribution of a Controlled Substance, heroin. During the investigation, a search warrant was issued for Taft’s residence. The search warrant was issued by Amsterdam City Court Judge, Lisa W. Lorman. During the execution of the Search Warrant, Police located and secured as evidence 5 rifles (4 our which were modified) as well as a loaded .22 caliber revolver. Police also located and recovered numerous drug packaging materials and an amount of US currency. Angel S. Lopez of 453 Locust Ave, Amsterdam, NY worked for Prime Inc. Trucking. While working for Prime Inc. Trucking Angel S. Lopez is suspected of running Heroin as well as other narcotics across country to and from Amsterdam, New York.
