This cemetery, located three miles west of the walls of Paris, on the slope of Mont Valerien, contains the graves of some 1,500 American soldiers. While most of those who sleep here died in hospitals in the rear zones of France, many of them had been wounded in battle and died after being evacuated to hospitals.
