Fairfield, sister of Secretary Knox; and Captain Fairfield Rock, USN, nephew of the Secretary. At the edge of the group (holding his hat behind him), is Edward N. Barnard, cousin of Secretary Knox. Back of him to the right is Captain Frank E. Beatty, USN, former aide to the Secretary, who is now on sea duty, but returned to Washington for the funeral. On Captain Beatty’s left is Mrs. Lyman S. Perry, wife of Captain Perry. At the extreme right are Secretary of State Cordell Hull and Mrs. Hull. Secretary Knox died on April 28, 1944.
