I certainly got better shots of the aircraft than this, but this is the one that tells the story. It's the anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic, and with all kinds of events going on around the river, the RAF sent a couple of fighters from the BBMF to do a flypast. As it was just a flypast rather than a display, we elected to make the five minute car journey to Everton Park to view from there. The Liver Building is 300ft high, so even assuming a low tide you can see that the fighters are flying very low indeed on this, their third of three passes. It's always nice to see them, even if we didn't get the mighty Lancaster along with them. The BBMF has six Spitfires, and it looks like the one flying next to the Hurricane here is a Griffon engined Mk 19 based on the five bladed propellor.
