I've jumped from XP to Windows 7, and I was pretty much forced by XP's reluctance to address my RAM and make the most of the multi core CPU. The installation wasn't too bad, but I did have some nervous moments wading through all the pointless glass and aero effects. I needn't have worried. With an hour or two of carefully directed industry and a dedicated mind you can make Windows 7 look just like Windows 98!
