Cue my activity today, which inolved a sheet of 9mm MDF, a workmate and a jigsaw. Ordinarily this would be a reasonably normal Sunday afternoon activity, but those who understand the full magnitude of my DIY ineptitude would probably see the funny side. Nevertheless it seems to work, and the shelves are actually equidistant - the angle makes them look otherwise.
