There were a few bits left behind, and it took me back to being a teenager. I used to have fun looking at odd car parts and trying to work out what car they came from. Strange, I know, but I spent a lot of time round garages as a nipper. I didn't have much to go on really, just a few light bulbs and some fragmented drive belts. Then I struck lucky with a door handle, which is usually quite a distinctive part. Going to look at that, the job got a little easier as I realised that right behind me on the pavement had been the tell-tale interlinked rings of Auto Union (representing, for trivia fans, Audi, Horch, DKW and Wanderer) which mark this recently deceased motor as an Audi. May it rest in peaces. When I first left the house this morning I walked past a scorch mark in the road bearing all the hallmarks of a recently torched car.
