He made his first team debut against Arsenal on the 30th April 1960 aged just 16 years old. Bobby went on to make 398 (5 subs) appearances for the 'Baggies' scoring 42 goals. He scored Albion's first ever goal in a European Cup competition against D.O.S Utrecht in Holland. He played for Scotland at Schoolboy, Under 23 and full International level. The great Liverpool manager Bill Shackley once said "If you stop Bobby Hope....you stop West Bromwich Albion. Not only was Bobby Hope an outstanding player he is a really lovely and very funny guy.
