The engine can tap energy from the quantum world and use it for propulsion and to keep the black hole from touching and destroying the missile. The black hole would swallow a planet or star replacing it in the same orbit and with the same mass without altering the dynamics of the rest of the planetary system, so it could be considered an ecological weapon. Also, unlike other forms of planetary destruction such as supernova explosions, the Atmossphere wouldn't be thrown into space with the possibility of infecting other planets with alien life.
