Short to tall , hairless perennial; stem solitary, branched. Leaves soft, pinnately-lobed, toothed, with a large triangular end lobe, the upper leaves clasping the stem, the lower stalked. Flowerheads small, pale yellow, 7-8mm, in a broad lax panicle, each with only 5 rayed florets. Achenes blackish with a pale beak.\nHabitats: Rocky woodland, hedgebanks, waste places, walls and other rocky places, on calcareous or base rich soils.\nFlowering Season: June-September.\nDistribution: Throughout Europe, except the far north.\n\nThis is a common Species in the described Habitats in the Netherlands.

Red-seeded dandelion (Taraxacum erythrospermum) is a species of dandelion introduced to much of North America and is very similar to, and often mistaken for, the common dandelion.
