Minamisanriku, Japan - Jul 10, 2012:  This picture was taken 1 year and 4 moths after 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami disaster, giving an idea of the destruction that the tsunami left on the territory. Minamisanriku was cleaned up, and slowly recovering from disaster. Photo is taken downtown at The three-story building of the town's Crisis Management Department (防災対策庁舎 Bōsai Taisaku Chōsha) which submerged by the tsunami. Out of the 130 people who worked at the town hall, only 30 who reached the roof and one of only 10 who survived.
The maquis, or macchia, is a type of dense, evergreen shrubland found primarily in the Mediterranean region. This vegetation is characterized by hardy shrubs and small trees such as holm oak, rosemary, and juniper, which thrive in the hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters typical of Mediterranean climates. The maquis habitat is well adapted to fire, with many plants having thick bark and deep root systems to survive and regenerate after wildfires. It provides a unique and rich ecosystem for a variety of wildlife.

Rhyolite is a type of extrusive igneous rock characterised by its light color, high silica content, and fine-grained texture. It forms from the rapid cooling of magma on the Earth's surface and is often associated with volcanic eruptions. Rhyolite is rich in silica (SiO₂), typically containing more than 70% silica. It is composed mainly of quartz and feldspar, with minerals like biotite, hornblende, and pumice often present.

Hetch Hetchy Valley is a glacial valley in Yosemite National Park in California. It is  flooded by O'Shaughnessy Dam, forming the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. The Tuolumne River fills the reservoir. Yosemite National Park, California. Waterfalls and lake.
