Alstroemeria are best known as cut flowers and last as long as two weeks in a vase, but they can also be grown in the garden. Alstroemeria flowers bloom from late spring to early summer and come in many shades of colors such as red, orange, pink, yellow, rose, purple and white.

(Solanum jasminoides) is native to South America and commonly grown as an ornamental garden plant.
