The ovoviviparous species inhabits tide pools, lagoons, and outer reef slopes. Ringed Pipefishes are found in caves and crevices. The species feeds on small invertebrates. The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail. \nBanda Neira Island, Indonesia, \n4°31'20.574 S 129°53'55.134 E, at 2m depth (unusually shallow!) by night$

$Saw Blade Shrimp Tozeuma armatum is a species of broken back shrimp (Hippolydiae) that occurs throughout the tropical Indo-West Pacific and the Red Sea in a depth range from 3-30m, max. length 5cm. The species is associated with black corals and sea whips. The body is almost invisible due to the elongated shape and the camouflaging bands. \nTozeuma armatum can adopt the same color bands as it's particular coral colony host.
