It is native to the desert ecosystems, including areas of Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah. The species typically thrives in dry, sandy, or rocky soils in desert and scrubland environments. It is well-adapted to arid conditions. The Bigelow Sagebrush is a shrub with aromatic, silvery-gray foliage. The leaves are finely divided, giving the plant a feathery appearance. The overall shape of the shrub can vary, but it often has a rounded or spreading form. Sagebrush species, including the Bigelow Sagebrush, play an important role in their ecosystems. They provide habitat and food for various wildlife, and their aromatic compounds can deter herbivores. This Bigelow Sagebrush was photographed at Meteor Crater near Winslow, Arizona, USA.
