The windmills in Holland are a phenomenon, so many little city's and villages have their own windmill. They were used for sawing wood and grind grain but the main purpose was to drain the Dutch polders. Our water management is worldwide famous. We gained a lot land with drainage and keep our feet dry. Nowadays the hobby miller let the wicks turn for the visitors but also for biological grain and sometimes still working at the watermanagement on little scale. We're proud of our windmills !
