Set up inbetween a number of re-enactor's tents, this field kitchen shows an eclectic mix of 1940s era cooking and kitchen equipment, set up quite haphazardly with an ammunition box used as a firepit, with a length of chain over the top suspending tea pots, cooking pots, and buckets for boiling water. This was used over the course of the weekend so has a very natural feel about it; it's not staged at all.\n\nThis image was taken at an outdoor event over a weekend in July 2023, where reenactors, living historians, and members of the public can come to experience what life was like during the second world war, with live demonstrations, battle reenactments, and static displays from all over the world.
