Saint-Malo, France, August 30, 2019: Looking at the historic bastille at the famous city of Saint-Malo. It is a historic French port in Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany on the English Channel coast. The city had a long history of piracy, earning much wealth from local extortion and overseas adventures. The city changed into a popular tourist centre, with a ferry terminal serving the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey, as well as the Southern English settlements of Portsmouth, Hampshire and Poole, Dorset.

Verona province, Veneto, Italy, southern Europe. The castle in the IX century, was built to defend itself from the invasions of the Hungarians. The small town of Lazise is surrounded by a fortified wall.
