Liatris spicata, commonly called Blazing star, Dense blazing star or Gay feather, is a tall, upright, clump-forming perennial. It features terminal spikes of rounded, fluffy, deep purple or white flower heads appearing atop rigid, erect, leafy flower stalks. It has the habit of opening its fluffy flowers from the top of the spike down.

Eleusine indica or Indian Goosegrass or Silver Crabgrass or Yardgrass or Wiregrass or Crowfoot Grass or 牛筋草 is a terrestrial, tufted, erect and herbaceous perennial plant in the family Poaceae. The stems are smooth and shiny. The leaves are green, 2-10 cm long. The flowers are bisexual, arranged together and form whitish green panicles. This plant is considered a weed because of its invasive growth. Some parts of this plant are commonly used as medicine for several diseases.

Low to short hairy annual or biennial; hairs whitish or reddish. Lower leaves stalked, upper unstalked, the leaflets linear-oblong; stipules lanceolate, pointed. Flowers whitish or pinkish, 4mm long, numerous, in dense oblong or egg-shaped, stalked, silky-hairy heads, the petals much shorter than the calyx. Pod 1 seeded.\nHabitat: Dry grasslands, often on slightly acid soils, field borders, grassy heaths, road verges, woodland pathways, waste places, sometimes on sand dunes, at low attitudes.\nFlowering Season: June-September.\nDistribution: Throughout Europe, except the extreme North.\n\nThis is a common Species on the described Habitats in the Netherlands.

De dwergzegge (Carex oederi subsp. oederi, synoniemen: Carex serotina, Carex viridula subsp. viridula, Carex scandinavica) is een overblijvend kruid dat behoort tot de cypergrassenfamilie (Cyperaceae) en wordt vaak verward met de geelgroene zegge. De soort staat op de Nederlandse Rode lijst van planten als algemeen voorkomend en stabiel of toegenomen. De plant komt van nature voor in Europa en Noord-Amerika. \nDe plant wordt 5-30 cm hoog en vormt dichte polletjes. De stengels zijn rechtopstaand, glad en stomp driekantig. De gootvormige bladeren zijn 1-2 mm breed. De onderste bladscheden zijn strokleurig, lichtbeige of wit. \nHabitat: Dwergzegge komt voor op natte, zoete tot brakke, matig voedselrijke grond vooral in duinvalleien en op groene stranden. \nFlowering Season: De hoofdbloei van de dwergzegge valt in mei, juni en juli. In augustus, september en oktober komen ook bloeiende planten voor.\nDistribution: De plant komt van nature voor in Europa en Noord-Amerika (source Wikipedia).
