A critically endangered wild yellow Atelopus epikeisthos is seen on moss near a small flower.  This new and critically endangered species of Atelopus from the Andes of northern Peru is a harlequin toad.  It is extremely rare.  This toad is found near streams in the high Andes and is 2 inches in length.
The coquí is a small frog endemic to Puerto Rico. It is named for its call which serves the purpose of repelling other males while attracting females. This amphibian is an unofficial territorial symbol of Puerto Rico.

The common Mexican tree frog (Smilisca baudinii) is a nocturnal species of tree frog whose native range extends from the Sonoran Desert and the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas south to Costa Rica.
