80 kilometers from Kayseri, it is home to interesting rock formations used as dovecotes, caves, shelters, churches and monasteries. As a very old settlement, it is famous for its churches from the Roman period. The most famous of these churches are; St. Barbara (Tahtalı), Karabaş, Kubbeli and Yılanlı churches. The settlement in this sheltered valley, where Christians chose to settle in the 4th century to keep their faith alive, is also intertwined with historical ruins. The people of Soğanlı, who welcome their guests with a smiling face, have another feature: they are the creators of the handmade Soğanlı dolls, each more beautiful than the other, with their colorful clothes and beads. These dolls made of cloth are very popular.

In the 1930's the owners of Crescent Moon Ranch installed a water wheel in their irrigation ditch. Falling water spun the wheel, driving a water pump and an electric generator. This system pumped water to storage tanks and brough power to the ranch. Crescent Moon Ranch is in the Coconino National Forest near Sedona, Arizona, USA.

Villers-la-Ville, Belgium - September 7, 2014: The Abbaye de Villers is an ancient Cistercian abbey founded in 1146. Since the late eighteenth century, when it was abandoned, the abbey began to fall into ruins, but it remains an outstanding historic site, with its imposing vaulting, arches and rose windows. It is located in the town of Villers-la-Ville.
