This envelope was sent from the United Arab Republic and appears to date from the late 1960s. The UAR was a former union between the countries of Egypt and Syria which lasted from 1958 until 1961, when Syria seceded from the union. Egypt remained in the union and continued to be known as the United Arab Republic until 1971.
