A 19th century illustration two native Greenland Eskimos in traditional dress entitled 'modern Eskimos'.
Collared Aracari\n\nPlumage: They are characterized by their vibrant and eye-catching plumage. Their predominantly black body is adorned with a colorful array of features:\nA bright yellow chest with an orange or red band across it.\nA white, semi-circular collar on the neck, which gives the bird its name.\nA black head with a pale blue or green patch of bare skin around the eyes.\nA large, multi-colored bill that is brightly orange at the base and yellow towards the tip.\n\nBill: The Collared Aracari's bill is long and curved, designed for feeding on fruits, insects, and small vertebrates in the rainforest canopy. Its unique bill colors and patterns make it easily distinguishable.\n\nBehavior: These birds are known for their social nature and are often seen in small groups or family units. They are agile flyers, capable of hopping and maneuvering among branches with ease. Collared Aracaris are also known for their distinctive calls, which include a variety of whistles and croaks.\n\nHabitat: Collared Aracaris are primarily found in the dense rainforests of Central and South America, including countries like Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. They prefer habitats with plenty of fruit-bearing trees.\n\nDiet: Their diet consists mainly of fruits, but they also feed on insects, small reptiles, and bird eggs when available. They play a vital role in dispersing seeds of the fruits they consume, contributing to the forest's regeneration.
