A stunning sunset light envelops the silhouette of the statue of the emperor Trajan along the Fori Imperiali boulevard, in the ancient heart of Rome. This bronze statue, placed in front of the Trajan's Forum, is a copy of the original marble preserved in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, made in the first century AD. and found in the city of Minturno during some archaeological excavations. In the background the silhouette of the National Monument of the Altare della Patria, in Piazza Venezia square. The Altare della Patria is the scene of all the official Italian civic celebrations, in particular the Republic Day on June 2 and the Liberation Day on April 25. Rome, Italy, February 26 -- The Altare della Patria National Monument, in the heart of the Eternal City near the Roman Forum, in a view from Via del Corso boulevard. The Altare della Patria, or Vittoriano, was built in 1885 in honor of the first King of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II. Inside there is the Unknown Soldier grave, the War Memorial Monument dedicated to all Italian soldiers who died in wars. The Altare della Patria is the scene of all the official Italian celebrations, in particular the National Day of the Republic on June 2nd and the Liberation Day on April 25th.
