Here we see the fruits of an environmental cleanup in the Ocean.  ‘Ghost Nets’ are the term now used for abandoned or obsolete items from the fishing industry, which become dangerous garbage polluting the Ocean.  Ghost Nets are responsible for the deaths of huge amounts of Marine Life every year, through entanglement and consumption.  The location is near Phi Phi islands in the Andaman Sea, Krabi, Thailand.

Lost and abandoned commercial fishing gear is called ghost gear. This lobster trap should have been checked daily. Once abandoned it continued to kill marine creatures as they become trapped, die, and then attract more creatures as the cycle continues. This trap washed up on a swimming beach where it will be properly disposed of.
