The Basilica di Santa Croce (Basilica of the Holy Cross) is the principal Franciscan church in Florence, Italy, and a minor basilica of the Roman Catholic Church. The complex of Scaliger Tombs (Italian: Arche scaligere) is one of the most outstanding examples of Gothic art. The complex includes five Gothic funerary monuments to celebrate the Scaliger family, who ruled in Verona from the 13th to the late 14th century.
