Two hikers can be seen on the trail to the Goblin's Lair, located in Utah's Goblin Valley State Park. Goblin Valley State Park is one the most popular attractions in Utah's San Rafael Swell, and the highly eroded red rock sandstone make it a popular hiking area. This photograph was taken in October, 2018.

These two stubby hoodoos at Goblin State Park stick close together while braving the desert and crowd of rock formations around them. I used long exposure in this shot to capture the motion of the sky over these alien-looking rocks. As these spires stay still, the clouds move fast over them. However, it could also be interpreted that these stone aliens are moving so fast in the sky that the clouds around them are blurring.

The beautiful Blue Canyon in Arizona is quite a new sight to most eyes, and it is an awe-inspiring destination to explore. It is full of so much variation when it comes to rock formations, and the canyon looks wonderous when the sun shines down on it. Something so unique about this location is that it void of wildlife and residency. It is a gorgeous place to be, but nothing lives there. For these many reasons, exploring Blue Canyon feels like visiting Mars.
