The Ancient City of Ping Yao well retains the historic form of the county-level cities of the Han people in Central China from the 14th to 20th century. Built in early Ming Dynasty, Pingyao’s Temple of the City God is one of the well-preserved such temples in China. Lying in the east of the ancient city and facing the Government Office, the temple is a quite building complex with splendid wooden architectures and brick carvings around. Houhai is a lake and its surrounding neighborhood in Xicheng District of central Beijing, China. Houhai is the largest of the three lakes, along with Qianhai 'Front Lake' and Xihai 'Western Lake', that comprise Shichahai, the collective name for the three northernmost lakes in central Beijing.
