Beja, Portugal: EuroDASS Praetorian DASS - this defensive Aid Sub-System (DASS) provides threat assessment, aircraft protection and support measures in extremely hostile and severe environments. The Praetorian system is a modular system consisting of antennas for electronic countermeasures (ECM), electronic support measures (ESM), missile approach warning systems (MAW), laser warning receivers (LWR) and Towed radar decoy (TRD) - portside wingtip of a Eurofighter Typhoon - electronic warfare (EW) - Beja Airport, photo obtained in a public area.

The Northrop Grumman E/A 18 Growler is a US Navy aircraft carrier based electronic warfare aircraft. It is a specialized version of the F/A 18 Super Hornet. It has been in service since 2009. When the EA-18Gs' radar and radar detectors locate possible targets, they passed the information through datalinks to strike fighters. They also are capable of jamming enemy radars. This image shows a dramatic pattern of water vapor forming on the wings of the plane.\nMelbourne, FL\n05/16/2021

Vapor cone around figher jet about to break the sound barrier (going approx 700mph or 1120km/h). This is the point at which a sudden drop in air pressure occurs, generally accepted as the cause of the visible condensation cloud that often surrounds an aircraft traveling at transonic speeds. **Slight motion blur and grain.

Gatineau, QC – September 15, 2023: A Royal Canadian Air Force FA-18 is silhouetted against an orange sky as it flies above the treeline with the setting sun in the background. The aircraft was part of the RCAF FA-18 Demo Team and is seen taking off with the afterburner lit. The performance was part of the AeroGatineau 2023 Airshow.
Simulation of the sonic boom, the natural phenomenon experienced by a military jet aircraft when it exceeds the speed of sound. A sonic boom is a sound associated with shock waves created when an object travels through the air faster than the speed of sound. Sonic booms generate enormous amounts of sound energy, sounding similar to an explosion or a thunderclap to the human ear. / You can see the animation movie of this image from my iStock video portfolio.
