Vientiane, Laos.\nXieng Khuan Buddha Park, is located on the Mekong River about 25 kilometers southeast of Vientiane. Xieng Khuan means city of spirits. Buddha in Cave 6, one of the richest of the Yungang sites.  It was constructed between 465 and 494 C.E. by Emperor Xiao Wen. The entire interior of the cave is carved and painted. The walls of the upper stories are host to carvings of standing Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and monks among other celestial figures. Yungang Grottoes, are excellent examples of rock-cut architecture and one of the three most famous ancient Buddhist sculptural sites of China. The others are Longmen and Mogao.

Wat Phra Kaeo is the central temple inside the walled city at the heart of Kamphaeng Phet. The temple comprises a series of structures laid out end to end, measuring 400 x 50 meters and oriented north-northwest to coincide with the path of the nearby Ping river.
Mingun, Myanmar - February 21, 2011: Young monks walking together past the ruins of the Mingun Pahtotawgyi or the Mantara Gyi Pagoda. Massive earthquakes in 1838 and 1956 caused the gaping crack visible in the picture.The Mingun Pahtotawgyi is a massive unfinished stupa in Mingun built by King Bodawpaya who wanted to show his people his immense power by building a monumental pagoda measuring 500ft in height. Work on the pagoda went on for 10 years but had to be stopped finally, when the economy of the country reached the verge of collapse and the King could not spend anymore on labour and materials. The unfinished pagoda today is 330ft high. King Bodawpaya also had a gigantic bell, weighing 90 tons, known as the Mingun bell, cast to go with the massive pagoda. Today it is the world's largest ringing bell.
