It is one of few remaining feudal Japanese castles that retains its main keep in its original wooden form and not a modern concrete reconstruction. Fuji and Five-story Pagoda called Churei-to in cherry blossom season, taken at Arakurayama Sengen Park, located in Fuji-yoshida city, Yamanashi Prefecture. The park is open to the public free of charge.\nThe pagoda was constructed in 1959 to commemorate those who died in the World War II.\nYou have to go up 398 steps to the pagoda from the foot of the hill, where Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine is located.\nArakura Fuji Sengen Shrine was erected in 705, and is one of about 1,300 Sengen shrines which were erected in honor of the deity of Mt. Fuji. This place is very popular among tourists from both Japan and overseas for its wonderful view, combining typical Japanese symbols of Mt. Fuji, Pagoda and cherry blossom.
