Framlingham Castle is a castle in the market town of Framlingham in Suffolk in England. An early motte and bailey or ringwork Norman castle was built on the Framlingham site by 1148, but this was destroyed by Henry II of England in the aftermath of the Revolt of 1173–1174. The ruins of the Romanesque-style St James' church at Bawsey in Norfolk, Eastern England. The church was built of the local ginger-coloured carrstone, with some flint and limestone, on a slight hill during the 11th or 12th centuries, with parts replaced or enlarged in the 14th or 15th centuries: it fell into disuse in the 18th century. Bawsey is a sparsely populated village near King’s Lynn which was once closer to The Wash than it is now, the coastline having moved over the centuries.
