Jeremiah was a prophet during the time of King Josiah. He warned the people about a coming judgment because of their sins. His warnings were largely ignored. God instructed him to write on a scroll a message for the people. Jeremiah and Baruch worked on that scroll, but it was later burned by Jehoiachim. Jeremiah was eventually arrested and put in prison. Upon his release, he fled to Egypt. He shared a message of hope and redemption with the exiles.

The peculiar text, written in Italian, forbids any person to throw rubbish along the alley, under penalty of paying five coins and even corporal punishment, according to the edict of the road manager issued on August 14, 1733.
