William Emerson, father of minister William Emerson and grandfather of transcendentalist writer and lecturer Ralph Waldo Emerson. n 1842, the American writer Nathaniel Hawthorne rented the Old Manse for $100 a year. The Old Manse The house is located on Monument Street, with the Concord River just behind it. The property neighbors the North Bridge, a part of Minute Man National Historical Park. Paramaribo, Suriname: High Court of Justice of Suriname - the Court of Justice is a late 18th century colonial building made of brick, the architecture is based on the classicist style. The building is five bays wide and three deep. There is a stone staircase at both the front and the rear that leads to the first floor. The facades are symmetrically arranged, with the front facade accentuated by using corner pilasters and a center riser for the main entrance. The building also has an attic and a slate-covered mansard roof. An old textile mill is being refurbished and converted into modern housing and office space. The sun was low on the horizon and created a beautiful reflection in the river in front of the mill. The ripples in the water create an interesting pattern in the reflection.
