This view along the main street of Chadron Nebraska shows retail shops and eateries as well as a local theater and other buildings, this street have traffic signals. Some of the building of brick construction appear to be older, the community does not seem to be overly crowded but on this beautiful day in July it was an interesting opportunity to pass thru this older community.

This section of the original Route 66 roadbed in East Flagstaff, Arizona, has been converted into an urban trail and is part of the Flagstaff Urban Trails System (FUTS). This short trail segment follows a portion of the historic road alignment and honors what was once part of the iconic “Main Street of America.”  Route 66 played a crucial role in the development and culture of the American West during the 20th century.  The urban trail is designed to accommodate a variety of users, including walkers, runners, cyclists, and skaters.  The trail provides scenic views of the surrounding landscape, including the ponderosa pine forests and volcanic mountains that characterize the Flagstaff area. This makes it not only a historical route but also a pleasant and picturesque place for outdoor activities.  Overall, the conversion of this section of the original Route 66 roadbed into an urban trail in East Flagstaff serves as a meaningful blend of historical preservation and modern recreational development.
