Chicago, USA - April 7, 2018:  Bronze lion statue standing guard at the Art Institute of Chicago.  There are two lion statues at the museum's Michigan Avenue entrance.  They are famous Chicago landmarks and date to 1894.
One of the two Lions by Edward Kerneys (1843-1907) at the entrance of the Art Institute of Chicago which on May 19, 2023 was hosting a Van Gogh exhibit. Bronze recastings of plaster figures first displayed at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition, the bronze lions now guard the Art Institute and are owned by the city of Chicago. (Public art)
