It bears small tubular shaped flowers, which each have four petals forming clusters. Viburnum dilatatum, commonly called linden viburnum because its leaves resemble those of the linden tree, is native to East Asia, including Japan. White flowers in showy, domed clusters appear in late spring (April to early June). Flowers give way to bright red fruits that mature to black in fall and winter. Berries are attractive to birds.
