A handsome, carefree evergreen shrub with dense, spineless, thread leaf foliage on an upright, bushy form. The soft, narrow, dark green leaflets create a fern-like appearance. Bright yellow flower spikes appear in fall, followed by purple-blue berries. Use as a filler in borders and beds or as an accent.

Mahonia napaulensis is a shrub in the family Berberidaceae, yellow Mahonia napaulensis.
Acacia baileyana, also called Cootamundra waffle, is a large evergreen shrub or small tree, adorned with a wide-spreading canopy and weeping branches, clothed in feathery, finely cut, blue-gray leaves. The foliage remains appealing all year round. In late winter to early spring, clouds of bright golden-yellow, small, rounded flowers held in axillary racemes cover the branches and create a striking floral display. As some photos show, it is a great plant for slopes and banks.\nThese photos were taken on a very windy day in spring.

Mahonia bealei, commonly known as Leatherleaf Mahonia or Beale’s barberry, is an evergreen shrub with large, leathery leaves, each composed of 9-13 spiny leaflets. Fragrant yellow flowers in loose, spreading to pendant racemes, bloom in late winter to early spring (February- April). Flowers are followed by ornamentally attractive, waxy green fruits which hang in grape-like clusters and mature to blue-black in late spring to early summer.
