A view of the imposing mausoleum of Augustus, also known as Augusteo, the funerary monument of the emperor Augustus subjected to a long restoration and which is expected to open to the public in March 2021. The mausoleum, built starting from 28 BC. it stood in the northern part of the Campo Marzio and was one of the wonders of Imperial Rome. In the background the baroque church of the Santissimo Nome di Maria al Foro and the Trajan Column, while in the foreground the remains of the majestic colonnade of the Basilica Ulpia, built in honor of the Emperor Trajan's family. The Roman Forum, one of the largest archaeological areas in the world, represented the political, legal, religious and economic center of the city of Rome, as well as the nerve center of the entire Roman civilization.
