The Protestant Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche (but usually just known as Gedächtniskirche) is located in Berlin on the Kurfürstendamm. The original church was heavily damaged in a bombing raid in 1943. The current complex includes a church made of concrete, steel and glass. The main colour in the glass is blue, with small sections of red, emerald green and yellow. The church has a capacity of more than 1,000 seats. Opposite the entrance, inside the church, there is a figure of Christ above the altar. The new church was consecrated on 17 December 1961.

The Gothic chapel was built in the 15th century. The Christian III's monument was created by the Flemish sculptor and architect Cornelis Floris de Vriendt in 1574-1575 and placed in the chapel in 1580. The Frederick II's monument was built 1594–1598 by the Flemish sculptor Gert van Egen, a pupil of Cornelis Floris.
