Chilam Joshi is also known as Kalash spring festival. Chilam Joshi festival is held in three Kalash valleys, Bumburet, Birir, and Rumbur.The four-day festival is held in the middle of May. During the festival, men and women meet with the aim of finding a spouse. On the coast of Banda Aceh on  04/08/2020,  A group of fishermen from the Javanese village skillfully cleaned their nets. Amidst the sunset ambiance, they employed the traditional method of shore seine to catch fish. Their hands moved skillfully and systematically, clearing debris and repairing the nets. Traditional welcome of Asmat tribe at Pirien. The Asmat are an ethnic group who reside in New Guinea in the Papua province of Indonesia. The Asmat live in the island's South Western coast bordering the Arafura Sea, on a land aera of approx 18.000km2 consisting of mangrove, tidal swamp and lowland rainforest. The Asmat tribes are well known for their woodcarving traditions and their art is sought by collectors and musea worldwide. As per today the Asmat population is estimated around 80.000. They mainly live along the numerous riverbanks. Until 1990 they were to be believed headhunters which was an important element in the Asmat culture. With the arrival of missionaries this culture was suppressed and ultimately banned. In november 1961, the 23 year old Michael C Rockefeller, son of Nelson A Rockefeller Governor of the State of New York disappeared in the Asmat region on an art collecting expedition. An intensive but unsuccessful search was the source of much speculation as to his fate!
