Rhyolite is a type of extrusive igneous rock characterised by its light color, high silica content, and fine-grained texture. It forms from the rapid cooling of magma on the Earth's surface and is often associated with volcanic eruptions. Rhyolite is rich in silica (SiOâ‚‚), typically containing more than 70% silica. It is composed mainly of quartz and feldspar, with minerals like biotite, hornblende, and pumice often present.
