The 30 Caliber Browning M1919 Medium Machine Gun was an infantry support weapon used extesnively in a variety of roles throughout the second world war. Here we see it set up on its tripod at the edge of a dugout, a perfect position for the gunner to lay down defensive and suppressing fire. The ammunition was belt fed, and visible to the left of the machine gun is the metal ammunition box in which the belt of ammunition is stored. Also visible is a carbine rifle, and an armoured tank in the background.\n\nThis image was taken at a Living History and Military Vehicle experience over the weekend of 11th-13th August 2023 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England. \n\nAn event where reenactors, living historians, and members of the public can come to experience what life was like during the second world war, with live demonstrations, battle reenactments, and static displays from all over the world.
