The Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell’Auricola or also the Sanctuary of the Madonna dell’Auricola stands on the top of the hill of the same name, 270 meters above sea level and a few kilometers from the center of Amaseno. The choir stalls with busts of apostles and prophets was created in 1495-1502 by master builder and sculptor Erasmus Grasser. The entrance to the choir is flanked by sculptures of Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary with Child, created around 1320.
