The beautiful frescoes with a false perspective inside the Chiesa della Santissima Annunziata, in the historic and medieval heart of Siena, in Tuscany. Built in 1257 as part of the ancient Spedale di Santa Maria della Scala, the church was remodeled in successive stages during the 15th century. In the photo, the apse with frescoes by Sebastiano Conca painted in 1731 and the High Altar with the bronze statue of the Risen Christ, a masterpiece from 1476 by the artist Lorenzo di Pietro. Siena is one of the most beautiful Italian cities of art, in the heart of the Tuscan hills, famous for its immense artistic and historical heritage and for the Palio, where the seventeen historical districts of the city compete every year in Piazza del Campo in one of the oldest horse racing in the world. East Doors (Gates of Paradise) by Lorenzo Ghiberti on Florence Baptistery (Battistero di San Giovanni) in Tuscany, Italy. These doors consist of 10 panels depicting scenes from the Old Testament and were commissioned in 1424. Once completed, they were described by Michelangelo as being fit to be the 'gates of paradise'. The doors displayed are now a copy of the original, with those being displayed in a local museum.
