Sandia Mountains in New Mexico
New Mexico has some of the flattest land as well as some of the most rugged mountains in the country. Some portions of the state are rich in pine forests, meadows, and fish-laden mountain streams, while other areas are devoid of any water bodies, and even cacti struggle to survive.

This is a north view of the Sandia Mountains in autumn. The mountain peaks have a fresh dusting of snow. The Sandia Mountains, are a mountain range immediately east of the the city of Albuquerque in New Mexico. The are a part of the Sandia-Manzano Mountains.
