Teide National Park is on Tenerife, the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands. It's named for Mount Teide, a towering volcano and the highest peak in Spain. Trails and the Teide Cable Car lead to the summit. To the west, Pico Viejo has crater views. The unusual rock formations of Roques de García include the iconic Roque Cinchado column. Southwest, a traditional shepherd’s home is now the Juan Évora Ethnographic Museum.

To see this magnificent gift of nature you have to drive about 20 minutes from La Grita up to the highest paved road of Tachira State in Osorio; then, take two more hours of driving with off road vehicle through the mountains; and finally, there is a two hours hike under severe conditions like small narrow steep rocky gorges, low oxygen level due to the altitue, cold foggy weather and high hills. The scene is magnificent, worth every effort in getting there.
